Tai Chi and the whole person
Regular Tai Chi sessions can contribute to a child’s physical, mental and emotional health and well being:
Physical development
Tai Chi can aid the development of a child’s basic movement skills of agility, balance and coordination. It can contribute to a high quality physical education for pupils.
The slow movements of Tai Chi have been proven to improve muscle strength, tone and flexibility. It is fun, relaxing and suitable for all children, helping to encourage the least active children to enjoy physical education.
Personal Development
As well as physical development, including Tai Chi in a child’s educational journey can contribute to the development of the individual as a whole. It can aid social skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership and can encourage a calm focused attitude to all learning.
